Behind The Mask

During the Covid 19 epidemic, P.P.E became a vital part of our daily lives whether it’s shopping, work or just meeting friends- however not everyone treated them that way. In this project I explored how masks have been discarded in and around West Yorkshire during lockdown and then putting that dirt on display in a safe, studio environment. This section was influenced by Paul Wyse’s work with masks in the street environment as well as Stefan Ebelewicz use of a studio environment to fully draw out the contrast and dirt of the P.P.E. Then capturing the wide array of masks that the typical public wear around the highstreets using a headshot style framing whilst still adhering to the 2-meter distancing rules.
