James Bleasdale is a photojournalist who has been shooting professionally for since 2015 and has a BA (hons) degree in photojournalism and documentary photography- in this time he has been shortlisted for the Tom Stoddart Award 2021, placing joint third in his second year of university for his project Northern Lights. James is predominantly a street/ event documentary photographer with additional training in industry standard editing software as well as moving image. In order to fund and develop these projects however, he is currently employed as a studio photographer at Image Exclusive Photography.

It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.
